Pastor Eugene passed away Saturday, May 5th, 2012. He was Pastor of St. Andrew from 1953-1975.  St. Andrew was Pastor Eugene's childhood and community church. Friends will be welcomed Tuesday and Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-9 pm at William Slater II Funeral Service, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., Pa. 15220  Service 10:00 am. Thursday in St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 218 Alter St., East Carnegie, Pa. 15106. Please meet at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

MISSION STATEMENT

Adopted by the congregation January 20, 2002

St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church is a Christian congregation which exists to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in a ministry of Word and Sacrament. It is the mission of our congregation:

* To preach, teach, and demonstrate the Word of God so all who are called by the Holy Spirit may respond in faith;

*To engage all who respond to God's call regardless of race and social status;

* To establish and nurture our people in the faith through the study of God's Word and the administration of the Sacraments;

* To develop and marshal the talents of our members for the work of God's Kingdom;

*To build up our community by fostering fellowship and acts of charity.

St. Andrew Lutheran Church is located in East Carnegie - a small neighborhood bordered by the boroughs of Carnegie and Greentree, Scott Township and the City of Pittsburgh.  It is easily accessible from Interstate 79 and Interstate 279.  Most folks follow Noblestown Road to either Bell Ave. or Idlewood Ave. and then turn onto Alter Street.  Parking is available on the street in front of the church, or on the side streets.  If you have no church home, please come visit us...you'll be warmly welcomed!
